Privacy Policy
Privacy Policy
Effective date: May 3, 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how Zyntec ("we", "us", "our") collects, uses, and protects your personal information when you use the Skinly mobile application and the website at https://skinly.zyntec.app (together, the "Service").
By using Skinly you agree to the data practices described here. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.
1. Information we collect
Information you provide
- Account information — email address, display name, language preference, and (optionally) a profile photo when you create or update an account.
- Skin profile — skin type, skin concerns, age range, gender, and other onboarding answers you choose to share so we can personalize your scan results and recommendations.
- Photos and scans — facial photos you capture for skin analysis and product photos you scan to identify ingredients. These images are processed for the analysis and stored only in your account history; you can delete them at any time.
- Routine and product data — skincare routines, products you save, reminders you set, and any chat messages you send to the in-app AI assistant.
- Subscription information — the in-app purchase or subscription tier you hold. Payment is processed by Apple App Store; we do not see or store your card details.
- Support communications — anything you send to us via the in-app feedback form or to contact@zyntec.app.
Information collected automatically
- Device information — operating system version, device model, app version, timezone, locale.
- Usage data — features you open, scans you perform, error logs, performance metrics. We use this to improve the Service.
- Approximate location — when you grant location permission, we read your approximate city and climate to personalize scan context (e.g., humidity, UV). We do not store precise GPS coordinates.
- Identifiers for advertising — if you allow tracking via Apple's App Tracking Transparency prompt, we share a hashed advertising identifier (IDFA) with our marketing partners (see Section 4) so we can measure how well our ads perform. You can opt out at any time in iOS Settings → Privacy → Tracking.
2. How we use your information
We use your information to:
- Run skin scans and generate analysis results, recommendations, and routines.
- Maintain your account, preferences, scan history, and subscription status.
- Send service messages (e.g., subscription receipts, important updates).
- Improve the Service through analytics, crash diagnostics, and product research.
- Detect, prevent, and respond to fraud, abuse, or violations of our Terms.
- Comply with legal obligations.
3. AI processing
Skin scans are analyzed by third-party AI models (currently Google Gemini and OpenAI) under data-processing agreements. The AI providers process your image to generate analysis output and do not retain it for training or any other purpose. Output is then returned to your device and stored in your scan history.
4. Sharing with third parties
We share data only with service providers that help us run Skinly, under contracts that limit how they may use your data:
| Provider | Purpose | Data shared |
|---|---|---|
| Supabase | Backend, database, file storage | Account data, scan results, photos |
| Apple App Store | Subscription billing | Anonymous purchase token, no personal data |
| RevenueCat | Subscription state management | App-generated user ID, purchase token |
| Google Gemini, OpenAI | AI image analysis | Scan photo (transient, not retained) |
| Meta (Facebook), TikTok | Ad attribution and conversion measurement | Hashed advertising ID, install/purchase events — only when you grant ATT permission |
| Sentry / error tracking | Crash diagnostics | Anonymized device info and stack traces |
We do not sell your personal information. We do not share scan photos or your skin profile with advertisers.
5. Data retention
- Account and scan history are retained while your account is active.
- If you delete an account from the app (Profile → Delete account), we permanently erase your account data within 30 days, except where law requires us to retain certain records (e.g., tax invoices for paid subscriptions).
- Anonymized usage logs may be retained for up to 24 months for analytics.
6. Your rights
Depending on your jurisdiction (GDPR in the EU/UK, CCPA in California, similar laws elsewhere), you have the right to:
- Access the personal data we hold about you.
- Correct inaccurate information.
- Delete your account and associated data.
- Export your data.
- Withdraw consent for tracking (via iOS Settings or app settings).
- Lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.
To exercise any of these rights, email contact@zyntec.app. We will respond within 30 days.
7. Children
Skinly is intended for users 13 years of age or older. If you believe a child under 13 has provided personal information through the app, please contact us and we will delete it.
8. Security
We use industry-standard measures to protect your data, including TLS in transit, encryption at rest for stored photos, and role-based access controls. No system is perfectly secure; you use the Service at your own risk and should keep your account credentials confidential.
9. International transfers
Skinly is operated globally. Your data may be processed in countries outside your residence (primarily the European Union and the United States). Where required, we use Standard Contractual Clauses or equivalent safeguards.
10. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The "Effective date" above will reflect the latest revision. Material changes will be announced in the app and you will need to acknowledge them on next launch.
